The library has implemented several business applications based on open source technology. The goal is to enhance overall efficiency, variety and availability of services. The applications include:

  • Online public access catalog-for carrying out searches of library materials.
  • E-resources/ journals-for accessing online journals from different publishers.
  • E-reference desk-for answering reference questions.
  • Ask a librarian-a chat platform for patrons to communicate with the librarian.
  • Digital repository-A database of gray literature e.g. past papers, projects.

Note: Most of these online resources are governed by license agreements which restrict use to the Strathmore community and to individuals who use the Library's facilities. It is the responsibility of each user to ensure these products are used for individual educational or research purposes only. Systematically downloading, distributing, or retaining substantial portions of information may result in loss of access to these resources for the entire Strathmore community. Users should also familiarize themselves with Strathmore Copyright Policy on Fair Use of Information Resources.
