Technical Services. Technical services involve the following:

  • Acquisition/ purchasing library resources in liaison with faculty members and library users.
  • Processing i.e. cataloging and classification of library materials for easier retrieval.
  • Ensuring users have access to information by ensuring all the library’s collection is reflected in the Online Public Access Catalogs (OPAC)
  • Editing Patrons' and library materials' data.

Photocopying/ reprographic services
The Library offers printing and photocopying services to students and staff. Printing services are charged ksh 5 per page while photocopying ksh 3 per copy. There are staff at the circulation desk who administer the above services and receive payments for the same. Patrons are required to carry the ID cards when soliciting for the services

Electronic Services

The library subscribes to e-books and e-journals which can be accessed from all university computer labs and laptops through wireless connectivity. Web-based databases such as EBSCOhost, Emerald, Blackwell-Synergy etc are used for journal researches.

Reading room
There is a Reading Room that has a floor space of 530 square metres and was the former location of the former university library housed in the university’s main administration block - phase 1. This is a facility for users to do their quiet study.

Security
A Library security system is in place to prevent theft and misuse of library resources and ensure quiet reading environment is achieved.
There are two security guards at the entrance/exit of the library while one oversees the exit of users, the other moves round the library ensuring order
